I was born in Hungary, but I have lived abroad all my life where I was fortunate to have experienced many wonders of Africa and Australia, as well as many other exotic destinations.
My heart always remained in Hungary, a special place full of extraordinary people, plump, rosy-cheeked grandmothers, indulgent aunts, a multitude of cousins and long lost relatives. This distant land never ceased to be an unforgettable memory of special holidays and celebrations, with tables groaning under the abundance of delicious food. It was an unceasing enigma of rastafarian dogs, curly haired pigs, tranquillity, harmony, fire and passion. A land of culture, time-honoured traditions, monumental landmarks, and special places that remained unexplored, unexplained, and shrouded in mystery.
Over the years there have been some extremely interesting and fascinating theories regarding the origin of Hungarians, their heritage and evolutionary roots, which still remains a much-debated subject. James Jeffrey, author of “Paprika Paradise” has a special theory. He believes that the only way to make sense of Hungarians, their language, customs, and idiosyncrasies is quite simply to understand that they all came to earth in a giant spaceship.
In an unpredictable twist of fate I have returned to live in Hungary. There is much to see, much to explore. Wherever my journey leads, from the oak forests of Transdanubia, to the Great Plains of the east, the wine regions of Tokaj or mysterious space ships, I will take great joy in sharing all that this unique country has to offer.
